Our tours allow<\/strong> the elephants different paths through the forests of northern Thailand where they have time for physical exercise and at the same time numerous opportunities to find and eat natural food. In addition, sufficiently long rest periods before and after the tours ensure that the animals have enough time to recover.<\/p>\n

Asiatische Tradition und der westliche Blick darauf<\/h2>

Das Reiten von Elefanten<\/strong> wird in westlichen Medien oft pauschal kritisiert und z.T. einseitig negativ dargestellt. Man argumentiert mit k\u00f6rperlicher \u00dcberlastung der Tiere oder psychischen Druck durch Menschen, die den Elefanten auf Dauer schaden w\u00fcrden. Dies mag in Einzelf\u00e4llen auf Elefantenprojekte zutreffen.<\/p>

Warum wir Reittouren anbieten<\/h2>

Statt wie in manchen Elefantencamps<\/strong> in m\u00f6glichst kurzer Zeit m\u00f6glichst viele G\u00e4ste \u201edurchzuschleusen\u201c erm\u00f6glichen wir den Tieren ausreichend Bewegung, gesundes Futter und abwechslungsreiche Routen in ihrer nat\u00fcrlichen Heimat. Denn Dauerbelastungen und immer gleiche Reitrouten k\u00f6nnen den Bewegungsapparat der Elefanten langfristig st\u00f6ren.<\/p>

Es ist uns ein gro\u00dfes Anliegen, Menschen mit Herz und Verstand an die Elefanten heran zu f\u00fchren. In unserem individuellen Tourismuskonzept erh\u00e4lt jeder Gast f\u00fcr die Dauer der Tour seinen \u201epers\u00f6nlichen\u201c Elefanten.<\/span><\/p>

Jedes Tier besitzt seine eigene Pers\u00f6nlichkeit<\/strong> mit Vorlieben und Besonderheiten, welche wir unseren G\u00e4sten intensiv n\u00e4her bringen.<\/p>

Mit viel Ruhe, Zeit und Know-How<\/strong> lernen unsere G\u00e4ste von unseren erfahrenen Elefanten-Experten wie man sicher und bequem im Nacken dieser kraftvollen Tiere durch die traumhafte Natur im Tal Mae Sapok reitet. Asian tradition and the western view of it<\/h5>

The riding of elephants is often criticized across the board in Western media and sometimes presented in a one-sidedly negative way. It is argued that the animals are physically overworked or under psychological pressure from humans, which would harm the elephants in the long term. This may apply to elephant projects in individual cases.<\/p>\n

Elephant Special Tours, on the other hand, has committed itself to high standards: animal welfare is always our top priority - we are an elephant project that is co-financed by tourism - not the other way around.<\/p>\n

On tours of at least 3 days in length, we introduce our guests to elephant riding - a tradition of direct contact between humans and animals that has been practiced in Northern Thailand for centuries.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Why we offer riding tours<\/h5>

Instead of welcoming as many guests as possible in the shortest possible time, as is the case in some elephant camps, we provide the animals with sufficient exercise, healthy food and varied routes in their natural habitat. This is because constant stress and riding the same paths over and over again can damage the elephant's musculoskeletal system in the long term.<\/p>\n

Through our concept of handling animals, we prevent one-sided stress and monotony on a health level as well as in the natural behavior of the animals.<\/p>\n

We carry out our tours individually, conscientiously and in a varied manner, so that the needs of animals and humans are met in considerate harmony.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

One person, one animal, one day<\/h5>

It is very important to us to introduce people to elephants with heart and mind. In our individual tourism concept, each guest receives their \"own\" elephant for the duration of the tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each animal has its own personality with preferences and special features, which we introduce to our guests.<\/p>\n

With plenty of peace, time and know-how, our guests learn from our experienced elephant experts how to ride safely and comfortably on the neck of these powerful animals in the beautiful surroundings of the Mae Sapok valley. Each elephant is always accompanied by its own mahout - the elephant guide.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

Is it possible without riding?<\/h5>

We recommend the one-day elephant baby tour or the two-day elephant encounter for guests who want to get to know the animals intensively but for whom riding is not the main focus of the visit.<\/p>\n

During these tours, you walk together with the elephants through the beautiful nature of northern Thailand and have plenty of time to watch the animals feeding and bathing.<\/p>\n
