Elephant Luxury Tour

Day 1
Arrival day, transfer Chiang Mai – Mae Sapok

In Chiang Mai we will pick you up at the airport or hotel. We travel by car to our village “Mae Sapok”, which is located about 60 km southwest of Chiang Mai, on the edge of Doi Inthanon National Park. After you have moved into your beautiful large tent in the style of African safari tents, we will drive you to our elephant camp. You will receive an introduction to the behavior and lifestyle of elephants.
Accompanied by your English-speaking guide, you will learn the basics of elephant guiding. You get to know “your” elephant, with whom you will spend the next few days. After lunch at the elephant camp, the program includes bathing your elephant in the river and a ride into the surrounding forests. In the afternoon, you will visit a village of the Karen hill tribe, to which our elephant guides also belong. We will introduce you to the traditional way of life of the Karen people, away from the unreal tourist villages.

Day 2
Start of the elephant safari

Enjoy the fascinating surroundings of Thailand’s north on the back of your elephant. Between dense forests and lush green rice fields, you will discover picturesque mountain villages. Breathtaking views are guaranteed, as are up-close experiences with the pachyderms. As the shadows get shorter and the day draws to a close, you reach your destination for the day.

An oasis in a class of its own awaits you in the midst of impressive nature. A bedroom with every comfort and a service team that takes care of your well-being.

You don’t have to sacrifice comfort and luxury when you spend the night in the great outdoors. Our service team will indulge you with a delicious dinner and you can relax after an exciting day. The elephants feed in the immediate vicinity and their sounds accompany you into the night. While you relax in your cozy bed, you can hear the gentle sounds of the pachyderms outside.

Day 3
On the road with the elephants

After you have fortified yourself for the day with a hearty breakfast, it’s time to get back on the back of the gentle giants. Another eventful day in beautiful surroundings awaits you. You enjoy the gentle rocking motion that you have become accustomed to.
You will reach your camp in the afternoon and can relax on your terrace after an eventful second day. A special dinner with special delicacies awaits you this evening.

Day 4
Final day with the elephants and visit to the temple Wat Hui Thong

After a hearty breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to our beloved elephants. You will visit the very special temple Wat Hui Thong, which offers a spectacular view over the mountains of northern Thailand off the beaten tourist track. You can also find out why the monastery is also known as the “Temple of 1000 Buddhas”. You will then have your final lunch at our elephant camp, where you can also meet our other elephants. Your stay with Elephant Special Tours ends with the drive back to Chiang Mai – but there can always be a next time. You will be back in the city around 2 pm.
