The globally unique concept combines the grace of elephants with the adventure of cruising through spectacular mountains on a motorcycle. In three days you will get to know and love our animals in a gentle and conscientious way. You will also experience the magnificent landscape of northern Thailand for three days.

Cruise on well-maintained country roads through the serpentines of mountains up to 2565 meters high. If desired, a real off-road feeling can also be experienced away from the asphalt. A German-speaking expert with local knowledge accompanies our guests to the gray giants as well as during the trip through the beautiful nature of Southeast Asia.

Detailed travel program
  • always starts on Mondays:
  • both possible: first 3 days elephants, then 3 days motorcycle tour, as well as the other way around

Day 1

We will pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai.
(IMPORTANT: pick-up at 8.30 a.m. at the latest)

You will reach the village of Mae Sapok, around 60 km away, where your accommodation will be located for the duration of your stay. We will introduce you to the day’s schedule over breakfast coffee or tea. You then drive to our elephant camp just a few minutes away.
Information about elephants in general and about the tradition of elephant husbandry in Asia is presented here. You will get to know our animals, we will introduce you to the characters and the history of each individual elephant to give you a picture of our heart project.
You will now also get to know your “own” elephant for the duration of your stay and will be gently introduced to it. As you mount the elephant, you will also take a seat on its neck and learn the first commands for riding the animals. After lunch, take your elephants to the nearby river and enjoy a long swim with the animals. You will then begin an extended ride through the surrounding forests and finally arrive back at the elephant camp.
While the elephants enjoy their evening off, you will get to know the village of Mae Sapok. Most of the inhabitants here are people from the Karen hill tribe. We introduce you to the Karen way of life with impressive excursions and in-depth background knowledge.
After a relaxing shower in your accommodation, you can enjoy a multi-course dinner typical of the region.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will drive to the elephant camp together with your trainer. From there you head into the surrounding forests, where you pick up the elephants from their nightly sleeping places. You now ride the animals back to the elephant camp and become increasingly confident in handling the pachyderms thanks to the experience you gained the day before.
You will have lunch at the camp and watch the animals at their relaxed lunch time. They are then instructed in the special features of working with the animals, which have been trained as so-called Timber Elephants. This tradition of working in the timber industry was the main source of income for the owners of the animals for centuries – we would like to maintain these skills together with you as our guests. Of course, this is adapted to your needs in a playful way and without great physical effort. After you have been introduced to woodworking, we ride another beautiful trail through the adjacent forest. You will now visit a local government development project that, like us, is committed to building sustainable community structures in the area for the future of elephants. There is also the opportunity to visit a beautiful waterfall here.

Day 3

You enjoy your breakfast and then drive to the elephant camp, where you start a very extensive ride with your elephants through the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you can enjoy the view of nearby rice fields, the home villages of the elephant guides and the course of the local mountain streams. After arriving at your destination, you can say goodbye to your elephant in person and have lunch in the nearby “Tong Bai Foundation” area.
We also introduce you to the background of our partner foundation, the Tong Bai Foundation, which is committed to securing the future of old and young elephants. After lunch, you will have the opportunity to help create a unique souvenir of the special tour. A T-shirt provided by us will be printed with the elephant’s footprint together with you. We will also introduce you to the unique method of making paper from elephant dung. This rounds off the impressive elephant experience in a pleasant and relaxed way.

Day 4 – 6

You start your motorcycle tour through the spectacular landscape of northern Thailand in the morning. The route can be adapted to suit your needs. Along the way you will sleep in simple, clean accommodation. Expert descriptions of the nearby sights are just as much a part of the tour as a focus on elephant projects in the surrounding area.
