Forget all your worries on an elephant tour through northern Thailand
On our nine-day elephant trek, you will travel together with your elephant through dense jungle, along hidden paths and along serene rivers – day after day, accompanied only by the sound of nature and the gentle steps of your animal companion.
You will experience an intense, almost magical connection with these fascinating animals. You will be out and about for several hours every day, led by experienced mahouts, accompanied by an English-speaking guide – and immersed in the pristine landscape of northern Thailand.
Spend the night in a cozy travel tent surrounded by nature – with the elephant right next to you. You can’t get any closer to these gentle giants.

Detailed travel program
Day 1
Arrival day:
We will pick you up at the airport or at your hotel in Chiang Mai. We will travel by car to our village “Mae Sapok”, which is located about 60 km southwest of Chiang Mai, on the edge of Doi Inthanon National Park. This is where your accommodation is located, the starting point for the program of Elephant Special Tours. From Chiang Mai International Airport, it takes about an hour by car to get to us. If you arrive in the morning, we can arrange a tour of our camp and the elephants.
Day 2
Training course in our own elephant camp:
You will receive an introduction to the behavior and lifestyle of elephants. Accompanied by your English-speaking guide, you will learn the basics of elephant guiding. You will get to know “your” elephant, with whom you will spend the next few weeks.
After lunch at the elephant camp, you will bathe your elephant in the river and go for a ride in the surrounding forests.
Day 3 – 8
The Great Elephant Trek – En route with the elephants
After you have properly strengthened yourself for the day, you set off on this very special adventure on the back of the gentle giants.
The route is called Around the Valley – and takes you deep into the nature of northern Thailand on unique trails. You can expect eventful days in impressive surroundings, during which you will be riding your elephant for around 3 to 6 hours a day.
Between dense forests and idyllic valleys, you will discover picturesque mountain villages. Breathtaking views are guaranteed, as are intense experiences with the elephants. Every morning, the next stage of the journey begins at 9 a.m. after a nutritious breakfast of course.
On the eighth day, you arrive back at our elephant camp – filled with unforgettable impressions and profound experiences. We celebrate the end together with all the trainers and mahouts at a lavish party in the camp – surrounded by the elephants that have accompanied you on this unique journey.
Day 9
Departure day:
We will take you back to the airport or to your hotel in Chiang Mai on time.

During longer tours with the elephants, you will stay in a spacious complex with various categories of accommodation. Full board is included in the price, the excellent breakfast and a multi-course menu in the evening can be enjoyed in the comfortable restaurant on the premises.
